Holiday Parks in Tunstall & Withernsea

Withernsea is the main town along a stretch of coastline in East Yorkshire from Easington, Out Newton and Holmpton in the south, to Waxholme and Tunstall north of the town. This stretch of coastline is popular with tourists due to the great beaches and relaxing countryside. The are is less crowded than Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough to the north and is popular with holidaymakers looking for a relaxing holiday by the beach. There are several holiday parks in the Withernsea and Tunstall area, the majority are very close or right overlooking the beach. A great place for a beach holiday, the caravan and lodge parks have great sea views. There are several touring parks around Withernsea with electric hook ups for touring caravans and motorhomes plus numerous campsites in the Withernsea area.

Withernsea is the main town, very friendly and based around the tourism trade with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, activities and amusement arcades. The long stretch of beach has groynes that run along it as this area suffers dramatically from coastal erosion, there is a long promenade that runs alongside the beach providing easy access for families. The beach is primarily sand with shingle at the sea defence wall and backed by a pretty road full of  guest houses, shops and cafes. Tunstall to the north is a more shingle and pebble beach with the holiday park behind it and never really gets busy, even in the summer.

The promenade at Withernsea is really pretty, redeveloped with the Pier Towers being the prominent feature, really nice to take a stroll, sit back and relax with steps down to the beach at regular intervals. You can visit the lighthouse and go to the lookout and see the coastline for miles or stroll around the Valley Gardens which hosts several events throughout the year and the Memorial Gardens are also a nice spot to relax in. If the weather is not so great, visit the leisure centre which has a water slide and fun sessions of go bowling at the Game King centre which also has a soft play area.

Withernsea is a pretty town, small and full of character, ideal for families that want a relaxing holiday with easy access to the beach in a clean and character town. There is a good number of caravan parks in Withernsea offering holidays in static caravans, lodges, touring caravan pitches and camping. There are even more in the  surrounding countryside with several campsites and caravan parks around Withernsea that are great for exploring this stretch of the East Yorkshire coast.
