Holiday Parks in the Gower

The Gower Peninsula sits to the north and west of Swansea in West Glamorgan, the first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK and is fairly similar to Exmoor in North Devon, which you can see on a clear day, in terms of its natural beauty, rolling hills and wild ponies. The Gower attracts a large number of tourists every year, usually to enjoy the beaches, walks and for a bit of surfing! There are numerous holiday parks on the Gower, the majority are smaller parks on farms and there are a couple of larger caravan and lodge parks on the Gower.

The beaches are great, really great and the obvious attraction. Probably the biggest and best beach is Rhossili Bay Beach, surfers will more likely know it as Llangennith beach because the best waves are usually, but not always, towards the middle of the beach that picks the swell best. This is a stunning beach, make no bones about that, it is great, beautiful sand, great surf, plenty of space, stunning scenery with the hills as a backdrop and worms head to the south, we have spent many hours in the sea at Llangennith and love every minute of it.

If you want spectacular beauty, Three Cliffs Bay is the one, great sand, great surf although sometimes more sheltered than Llangennith, clear waters and great sand. If you are on a family holiday, this is the perfect place to take the kids, dunes to explore, a river to build dams, perfect sand and clean water. If you fancy the walk, Pobbles Bay around the corner is just as nice, quieter even on a sunny day on the summer and a great expanse of sand at low tide. There are loads of other beaches, Caswell and Langland are easy to access from Swansea and the Mumbles, they get busy in the summer though! Oxwich is also really nice, a really pretty beach, easy access to the beach and when the sea is calm, you often get yachts moor up for a night with the shelter of the headland.

We could go on all day, but you get the idea, the Gower has loads of great beaches, great surf and stunning landscapes and seascapes, it is a little gem. You can go coasteering (superb fun if you have never done it), walking, horse riding, surf lessons, explore the local pubs, shopping in Swansea, enjoy the fun at the Mumbles, walk along the open heathlands and see the ponies, the Gower is just beautiful, one of our favourite destinations!

There are several caravan parks on the Gower, large caravan and lodge parks, some right by a fantastic beach or cosy inland campsites, The Gower has lots of great touring parks, caravan parks with lodges, camping sites and you can even go glamping, do have a look, the Gower is a gem of a place to visit!
