Approximately a thirty-minute drive from Haggerston Castle Holiday Park is Alnwick Castle, this famous castle featured in the Harry Potter movies and the television series Downton Abbey. Alnwick Castle has over 950 years of history to discover and is an amazing castle to come and visit. There are tours, talks and trails you can take part in which are included as part of your entry fee. Children will love the famous Broomstick Training sessions that take place within the grounds, this takes place where Harry Potter had his first flying lesson in the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Other facilities at Alnwick Castle include a courtyard café, gift shops and the Armoury Takeaway.

If you are a keen walker, there are many wonderful walks for you to enjoy in Northumberland. You can enjoy a lovely circular walk at Bamburgh Castle. Start at the village of Bamburgh and you can take in the views of the Anglo Saxon Citadel, the walk then follows around the bays and beautiful countryside in a clockwise direction.
